Mortal Timeline

The Dawn of Civilization

  • The first mortal settlements rise in Solaris along the River Serane, where fertile plains allow steady harvests.
  • Dwarves carve their earliest fortress-halls into the Sunreach Mountains, etching Kallor’s rune on keystones.
  • Elves settle in the Moonwood of Eryndral, establishing clan traditions tied to Faenara.
  • Halflings form small farming clans in the Highlands, revered as “children of the deep furrow.”

The Age of Shadows

  • The first Greyborn emerge -- mortals marked by Althyna, carrying the Veil’s touch. They are feared but seen as necessary guides between life and death.
  • Goblin clans, once scattered, unify under Graven’s Red Hand, launching the first great border-raids into Solaris.
  • Changelings wander between identities; The Hollow Bride’s influence grows in whispers.

The High Throne Era -- The Aurelian Dynasty

  • At Lake Aurelia, the first High King of Solaris is crowned, uniting Humans, Dwarves, and Halflings under one league of crowns which endures for five generations, binding marcher-lords and clans through oaths sworn before Serane and Aurelyn.

Alaric I, the Grain-Crowned

  • United Humans, Halflings, and Dwarves into the first High Throne.
  • Crowned at Lake Aurelia with a circlet woven of grain and gold.
  • Remembered as a farmer-king who embodied Serane’s bounty.

Serenna I, the Oath-Keeper

  • Brokered treaties with the Dwarves of the Kalloran Holds.
  • Enshrined the “Covenant of Stones and Grain,” binding plains and mountains.
  • Revered as a diplomat and peacemaker.

Torvald II, the Builder

  • Expanded roads, bridges, and cities, commissioning the great fortresses known as Torvald’s Gates.
  • Remembered as ambitious but pragmatic -- “Torvald built it, but others bled for it.”

Eryndor III, the Stern

  • Waged harsh wars against marcher-lords and Highland clans.
  • Praised for defending the Solar Host’s will, but remembered by many as a tyrant.

Lyssara IV, the Last

  • Civil war consumed her reign as rival cousins vied for the crown.
  • Riftshadow cults spread, marcher-lords declared independence, and Highland clans raided freely.
  • Died childless; her death ended the Aurelian line and collapsed the High Throne.

The Rise of the Seranthine Empire

  • After the High Throne’s fall, Solaris fractured into warring marcher-lords, clans, and cult-ridden provinces.
  • In the fertile heartland, the city of Seranthine rose as a bastion of stability.
  • A cousin of Lyssara claimed descent from House Aureline and crowned herself First Empress of Seranthine.
  • Over two generations, Seranthine consolidated power: marrying rival houses, defeating rebellious marcher-lords, and gaining the blessing of the Solar Host.
  • The Host proclaimed: “The Grain-Crown will rise again,” tying imperial legitimacy to divine prophecy.
  • By the time of the Accord Wars, the Seranthine Empire stood as Solaris’ last great power, though its borders remained contested.

The Accord Wars

  • Expansionist emperors of Seranthine push westward into the Duskwood and Verdant Plains, clashing with Accord-aligned tribes.
  • The first Hunt-Council forms in Eryndral, uniting Elves, Shifters, and Beastfolk in defense.
  • Centaur and Satyr raids strike back at the plains, devastating imperial outposts.
  • The conflicts become cyclical: Accord tribes resist walls and crowns, while Seranthine insists on conquest.

The Coming of the Genasi

  • When Elyss’ child is split, Vael and Vaelen give rise to the first Genasi. They are born in Thalmyre, forged of storm and stone.
  • Genasi enclaves form on the isles -- some welcomed, others hunted as omens of ruin.
  • In Solaris and Umbrith, they are viewed with suspicion, accused of carrying the Fracture’s chaos.
  • In Eryndral, Druids and Shifters call them “storm-born kin” and grant them kinship.

The Divine Drama

  • As the gods’ betrayals echo in mortal lives, grief and hunger deepen across Umbrith.
  • From Seraphel’s sorrow, the first Vampyr are born -- mortal rulers turned into eternal matriarchs of undead courts.
  • These Vampyr houses enthrone themselves in the Widow’s Vale.
  • Mortal kingdoms fall or swear fealty, and Umbrith cements its identity as the Veilbound continent.
  • To Solaris, they are abominations; to Umbrith, they are salvation from death’s grip.

The Shattered Realms Settled

  • Mage-orders and elemental tribes settle Aetheris, making it the premier arcane academy of the world. Lords, courts, and even Vampyr send their brightest here to study magic.
  • Cindralith’s forges awaken; Dwarves, Orcs, Goblins, and Gnomes transform it into a land of blackened mountains and smog-choked valleys.
  • Thalmyre remains chaotic, ruled by Dragons, Kobolds, and Genasi enclaves, its islands rising and falling with every storm.
  • The Shattered Realms become vital crossroads for trade, study, and invention.

The Age of Industry

  • In Cindralith, gears and furnaces birth steampunk innovations: airships, clockwork engines, and mechanized arms.
  • Firearms appear -- crude muskets and dangerous pistols, rare but powerful enough to shift wars.
  • Guilds of Artificers monopolize their creation, leasing “contracts of fire” with trained gunners instead of selling freely.
  • Firearms begin to spread:
  • Solaris: Nobles and mercenaries flaunt them as prestige.
  • Umbrith: Smugglers deliver them to Riftshadow cults and goblin warbands.
  • Eryndral: Accord hunters experiment, though druids condemn them as a wound to nature.
  • Mortals enter a new age where invention rivals both magic and faith.
