Vesta - The God World

Vesta. Once, it was a planet simply called Earth. The dominant race of mankind had, over millennia, forged it into a juggernaut of technological perfection, but the sickness of avarice, corruption and blind ambition slowly tore the ancient empire to pieces. Its demise was inevitable, destined to be prolonged and agonising, until finally something came from the stars to end it all.   An alien invasion of unprecedented scale fell upon the world at its darkest hour, annihilating the monolithic structures of mankind's hubris and decimating the population in a cataclysmic war that could not be won. Then the invaders left as abruptly as they arrived, and it seemed as though Earth could finally be left to wither, a fallen empire amongst an infinite galaxy of them. That was until deliverance arrived, and the survivors of the apocalypse knew hope once more.   The Archsaviour, the alien prophet from the distant stars, Dorak Zankaji, found the dying world after the destruction of his own. He was flanked by an army of dragons, and in his hands he held the vessel containing the very centre of all reality, something greater than mankind could have ever imagined; the Life Core. Zankaji found the last bastions of humanity, and offered them salvation. The remnants, believing him to be the messiah, accepted without question, and they were transported to the moon while Zankaji and his dragons instantiated the Core and rebuilt the planet around it.   It has been ten-thousand years since that day, and in that time mankind has reclaimed its kingdom, through many ages of peace and war. The Core evolves life around it to be able to protect it, and thus all reality, from any who may seek its destruction.   And from this power, the superhumans were born...
