Asgorath

The Cosmic Architect

Asgorath, the Cosmic Architect, was the deity who led the others in the creation of Erden. They laid the foundations for the world: they designed the laws that we know as "physics" and "mathematics", established the Weave, separated the planes, formed the bare globe of rock that would become Erden, and put the stars in motion. But all of this was a massive effort, and after they were done, they fell into a deep sleep. The other gods were left to finish the work themselves.
Because they were comatose, Asgorath had no way of knowing what would come. As some of the gods grew more corrupt, they coveted the Architect's powers of creation and order. Finally, Zargon found a way into their realm and killed them. This deed set off the Dawn War.
Currently, Asgorath is mourned more than they are worshiped. But there are still two organizations that continue to revere them. The Society of the Cosmic Architect is a philosophical group of physicists, mathematicians, wizards, and other intellectuals who view Asgorath as the first and greatest of their profession. They devote themselves to their studies as a form of worship, similar to how one might study the works of a master artisan in an attempt to know them better. The other is the Order of the Sleeping God, a small but dedicated religious organization of people who believe that they can bring Asgorath back through worship. Whether or not they are right remains to be seen.

Divine Domains

Though they can no longer affect the world, Asgorath is still revered as the god of natural law. Their name is invoked by scholars who study the underpinnings of the multiverse.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

A variety of symbols are used to represent Asgorath, since their following is less organized than the Temples of the Twelve. The most common is the double-spiral (pictured in the right sidebar). This symbolizes the interplay of opposites: order and chaos, life and death, matter and spirit, et cetera.
Another is the Star of Asgorath, a complex figure made of thirteen circles connected through lines from their centers. The lines can be traced to form every geometric solid: cubes, pyramids, octahedrons, dodecahedrons, and so on. Three-dimensional sculptures of the Star are sometimes used as altar pieces.
The study of sacred geometry is central to Asgoratheans, so some geometric figures are considered especially significant. For example, the "golden ratio" found in many living things is represented in various forms, most notably the logarithmic spiral. Natural objects such as nautilus shells may be used to display this.
