Granuaile-Goddess of Thieves/Pirates
Granuaile was actually once a mortal: the Pirate Queen of the First Age. Commanding a fleet of three hundred ships, Granuaile was never bested on the high seas. In fact, she was never bested at all. She was granted her godly form when she challenged Bas, God of Death, to battle her fleet upon the sea. The resulting battle ended the first age, drowning it in a torrent of water so thick no mortal could survive. Before the world met its watery end, however, Granuaile’s ship--The Great Hunger--sent Bas to the bottom of the sea. For this victory she was granted immortality and became the patron deity of Thieves and Pirates. She often gives favor to her devout followers by granting them strong winds and unfocussed targets, but she only appears on the high seas herself in times of great importance. Most consider The Great Hunger a myth, a boogeyman veteran sailors use to scare new recruits. No one who has seen the black flag of Granuaile have ever lived to tell the tale.
