Falerith Coins
Mechanics & Inner Workings
At its base, Falerith works off of a base ten currency using Copper, Silver, and Gold coins, with ten of one coin being worth one of the next. The conversion between the coins is based on the weight of precious metal in them. However, all coins are the same shape, size, and weight.
Coins are shaped like an octagon with a small circle cutout of the center.
Manufacturing process
The secret mixture of Armon and other metals in coins is unique for each type (Copper, Silver, or Gold). The metals are all mixed together before being cast and marked. This alloy allows the coins to all be of a standard size and weight, while having different precious metal content.
Copper coins are approximately 58.27% copper, silver coins are 41.62% silver, and gold coins are 15.79% gold.
The process for creating coins is tightly controlled by the Dukes and Duchesses of Falerith, and they hunt down any attempts to make illegal coins.
