Verial is a world broken by greed, in more ways than one. Due to the main source of power corrupting the land, a once lush landscape slowly ripped itself apart, becoming the territory of shadows of what once was and other oddities. This power source is distortion, discovered inside the caves of slumbering behemoths and later duplicated by having a supernova and black hole intersect. As some try to push the boundaries of this power, destroying more land in the process, others attempt to stem the destruction where they can. However, only delaying the destruction could only last for so long.
