Personal history

Khaide's father died of fever when Khaide was very young. His mother remarried to an Elven noble several years later, and Khaide was raised in an Elven settlement in Midgard. He was always enchanted by the Bladesingers with their deadly grace.   Forbidden from studying the art of the Bladesong due to his race, Khaide spent many of his younger days spying on the Bladesingers at practice - trying to master the art on his own. One day in his 16th year, a young Elven rival came upon Khaide while he was at practice in a secluded part of the neighboring forest. The rival - jealous of Khaide's progress - reported him to the local Elders.   His mother and half-elven sister spoke in his defense but his step-father refused, and Khaide was sentenced to death "in order to maintain the sanctity the Great Elven Art". He was then taken to the woods for his execution.   As his executioner's blade began to fall, Khaide moved deftly aside. He defended himself with a grace he'd never found in his training, and realized he had finally achieved the Bladesong. Using his executioners' surprise to advantage, Khaide managed to escape and eventually travel to Aetrus. He now seeks to prove himself the equal of any Elven Bladesinger through his deeds.

Human raised in an Elven settlement in Midgard. Sentenced to death for learning the art of the Bladesong, he now seeks to prove himself more skilled at bladesinging than any Elf.
