Open Sesame

Spent the last couple of weeks traveling to pick up the steed I arranged for. A riding lizard I’ve decided to name Fritz. Ugly as sin, but useful, practical even, to have around. While on my dealing I came across a little map to some ancient dragon temple. The feller that sold it to me promised their was much of value to find in there. Yeah, sure. Still, It’s not like I’ve had much to do lately, so it was at least worth a look. After a few days of hard mountain climbing with my companions we found the place, and the map must not’ve been to scale. The relief of the dragon carved into this mountain must be miles long. After dealing with some lizardfolk that acted like they owned the place, we found the entrance, but it was locked up tight. As a joke I opened out my arms and gave a booming command. “OPEN SESAME!” As I turned to the rest of the group to make a joke, the damn thing actually opened! Who would have guessed that, that would work. Well we sqeezed through to tight gaps into the place and now we stand on the precipice of what might be a might fine adventure after al.

Strange Times

Making a new life for yourself, a new identity, comes with all sorts of risks. Some find you, and others you go looking for as you build your new reputation. Last week I heard a tale from a pair of yellow bellied caravaners about a cave whose walls glittered, but that they left behind after seeing something foul that spooked ‘em. Found a group willing to do the deed of casing the place, we were not prepared for what we found. Humanoids of various races working like drones to mine tirelessly. Orc natives from the plains supervising them, not sure if they were also under some sort of spell. And worst of all a brain. Not the kind of thing you might find in a doctor’s jars either. A massive thing floating in the air, beaked like a bird, and with numerous tentacles hanging from below its stem, waving in the air. We didn’t stop to ask question, and it didn’t care to address us either. We exterminated the unnatural abomination with extreme prejudice. Got the feeling based on some tracks we found that it wasn’t working alone. If I had to wager a guess, it was working for someone else. We better keep an eye on that cave.
