Aedreth Native (Aztlani)

While the name Aedreth is more commonly used on modern maps, the natives call their land by a different name, Aztlan.   Favored by... At first level, an Aztlani must choose one of the guardian spirits below. This spirit watches over them and grants them special abilities.   Quetzalcoatl: you sprout ghostly rainbow wings that grant you a flight speed equal to your movement speed for one minute. If you already have a flight speed, this ability increases it by 10ft. You must finish a long rest before using this ability again.   Tezcatlipoca: your finger nails turn black and grow into razor sharp claws. For one minute your unarmed attacks become slashing instead of bludgeoning and deal 1d6 slashing damage. You must finish a long rest before using this ability again.   Xipe-Totec: As part of a short rest you may shed your skin, removing one disease or one condition afflicting you. The Condition can be blinded, deafened, paralyzed, or poisoned. You must finish a long rest before using this ability again.   Huitzilopochtli: you are infused by the spirit of war. As part of your attack action you may make an additional weapon attack. You must finish a long rest before using this ability again.

Culture

Culture and cultural heritage

The Aztlani cling to the worship of the titans who once inhabited their lands. It is believed that the titans Quetzalcoatl, Tezcatlipoca, Xipe-Totec, and Huitzilopochtli chose to serve their people rather than rule them as the other titans. All tho these beings are thought to be long dead, their spirits are believed to linger within the land itself.

Common Dress code

The Aztlani dress in tunics woven out of cotton and feathers. Warriors often adorn their armor and shields in eagle feathers, while high ranking members of society are decorated with vibrant plumes, gold chest plates and jewelry made of jade beads.

Art & Architecture

The fine arts include writing and painting, singing and composing poetry, carving sculptures and producing mosaic, making fine ceramics, and working metals, including copper and gold. An especially prized art form among the natives is featherwork - the creation of intricate and colorful mosaics of feathers, and their use in garments as well as decoration on weaponry, war banners, and warrior suits.

Common Myths and Legends

When the titans decided to usurp the gods and rule Verdraxis themselves, the Aztlani titans stayed true to their original purpose as defenders of the people. Legend has it that when a great evil came to Aztlan, the titans defended their charge at the cost of their own lives. Because of this the Aztlani people worship the spirits of their titans above all else, even with the return of the true gods.

Ideals

Gender Ideals

The Aztlani family pattern is bilateral, counting relatives on the fathers and mothers side of the family equally, and inheritance is also passed both to sons and daughters. This means that women can own property just as men, and that women therefore have a good deal of economic freedom from their spouses.
