Verden

Verden is a new world. A young world. A world on which the rationally-thinking, magic-using species are starting to grow into their power. They have begun to define what they will, one day, become.   Verden's inhabitants have reached the dawn of their civilizations. They build cities and carve trade routes between them. They pursue the sciences and the arts. They embark on voyages of self-discovery. They will, in short order, grow their magical power to greatest height the world will ever see.   Yet life on Verden is not all butterflies and unicorns. The wilderness between cities remains untamed and efficiently deadly. Philosophical differences between species is an ever-burning ember, lying in wait for its opportunity to burst again into the flames of war.   This is the time of gods walking among mortals. This is the time that shapes all of the times that come after. This is the time that decides the fate of every living being on the planet. This is the time that creates the ruins that adventurers will explore a thousand years hence.   This is a great time to be alive!
