Allumar

Covered by dunes of sand, rivers of acid, and towers of glass this is one planet you don't want to visit.
Named after the God of Knives, Allume, Allumar is a harsh, mostly desert planet, known for its naturally-occuring glass thorns. Slightly warmer than its neighbours due to its unique atmosphere, it is still able to have liquid rivers; unfortunately, these rivers are highly acidic and are additionally hot to touch, thus responsible for the Knives of Allumar.

The fifth planet from the Sol gets much light, as its day is only an hour shorter than that of Vequesia, though its rotation around the same star lasts almost thrice longer than the Vequesian 285-day year, a whopping approximate 903 days. The planet itself is orbited by a singular natural satellite called Stilet, named after the knife which Allume always carries with xem.

The Knives

Also known as the Thorns of the Allumar Rose, the Knives of Allumar are naturally-occurring towers of green- and blue-tinted glass-like materials which fill the skies of this planet. They are most likely produced by the harmonious cooperation of several dangerous elements of the planet—quite literally, the process is theorised to create strange yet beautiful melodies, something scholars have only been able to replicate recently and not as smoothly as the natural process. The sand and acid meeting creates the "glass", thus ensuring natural glass-like riverbeds for these acidic streams. The towers themselves come from the interruptions to this process, the movement of the ground below, earthquakes that range from less than one on the Richter scale to well over seven. These Knives are also responsible for another feature of the planet, its unusual colours; a sway of light green and blue shades fills the planet's skies, caused and enhanced by the winds and the towers of glass.

The Biology

Evidence of flora or fauna remains yet inexistent, at least from the little research that has been done on the planet. With current telescope technology one is unable to see too clearly the surface of the planet; even the glass towers are seen through a muddled view. However, most scholars doubt that anything could exist upon the planet due to its frequent earthquakes, acidic rivers, and the bits of glass which are likely present across the planet. Should anything of life exist there, scientists agree, it would be remarkably hardy and certainly fascinating to study.
