Morgantha
History
Morgantha was a night hag who resided in the dread plane of Barovia. They stayed in an abandoned windmill between the villages of Barovia and Vallaki with her two daughters Bella Sunbane and Offalia Wormwiggle. They would create pastries that would give the consumer pleasant dreams that took them away from the horrors that Barovia forced upon them. These pies were both highly addictive and made with the most vile of ingredients, the bones of children. Morgantha would make regular visits to the village of Barovia in order to sell her pies. If those who were addicted could no longer pay for her ever increasing prices, then they would offer their children to the disguised hag. With this business model she would be able to continuously get more of the key ingredient for her pies. When the adventurers arrived in Barovia, several of them ate and became addicted to Morgantha's pies. The purchased several from her and would not learn of the secrets of either the hag or her pies until they reached her base of operations. Upon arriving at the windmill, they discovered her plot and attempt to kill the hag and her sisters. They managed to defeat both of her daughters and caused her to flee where she was confronted by Count Strahd himself. He brought the hag to the adventurers while they camped at the nearby river and killed Morgantha in front of them as an attempt to gain their trust. Her body was cast into the river where it floated off into the unknown.
Alternate Barovia
In the Alternate Barovia, the adventurers Zeyis and Dalian became addicted to Morgantha's pies. Zeyis was so addicted that she even ate one off of the floor when another of her companions knocked it out of Dalian's hands. When they discovered her secret they also attempted to kill her but were somewhat less successful. Strahd was forced to step in and kill the hag before she spoiled the fun he planed to have with the new arrivals to his land and to protect Ireena, the woman who he planned to take for himself.
