Introduction to the Atlas

The Atlas is the place where you will find the maps of Venneis. Here I have pinned different locations, some quests, and other fluff that I deem worthy of being pinned. Different pins mean different things, such as:

The Blue Pin

Which stands for locations that have already been visited. Here you will be able to read some general information about the place, such as common weather conditions, how the place gots its name, what it looks like, what it smells like, what the place is known for, and more.

The Green Pin

This pin is used for places of interest. The players might have come across a location with unnatural hills, or a lone hag's house in the woods. It could even be used for general fluff. It should also wrap in starting locations of sidequests if the players come across any.

The Purple Pin

The purple pin stands for personal quests / backstory quests. Here you should only give out as much information as the players discovered. You can of course ad a bit of extra material, but it shouldn't spoil anything. It's more fun if the players discover everything regarding their backstory quests for themselves.

The Orange Pin

This pin is used for the main quest. The quest that drives the story forward. The players can choose to ignore this pin, and the DM should make accurate changes to the pin (i.e remove it) if enough time passes. The players will then have to visit that location and find out why it was removed, or find out by other means.

!IMPORTANT!

The towns will have maps and pins of their own. The blue pin works a bit differently in these locations, as they give out general information about the place that the players might not have known. If you want to use these pins, you should make adjustments so that the players only get the info that they have gathered by themselves, unless you and your players decide otherwise.   There might also be a red pin present. This is used to convey the general feel of the town and should work as a tool for DM's to describe the town. Keeping this pin visible shouldn't be a spoiler, as most of the information on them is connected to the players just walking around and looking at the general scene. Make adjustments as you see fit.
