Captain Korander Wain
Captain Korander Wain (a.k.a. Kori)
A tall, muscular sylph with brown skin etched with the curving white markings characteristic of those with her ancestry, Captain Wain cuts an imposing figure, standing at the bow of her airship Darkwrought with her spyglass raised. Dedicated to keeping Anaya safe from the protean menace, she funds her expeditions by transporting passengers on her ship and by less savory means.

She knows a few spells.

Personal history
Korander's mother was a Midiri nomad who immigrated to An Tevya Taran after her clan was massacred by a protean incursion. Growing up across the Summer Sea, young Kori never saw a protean herself, but was terrified by her mother's tales. When she returned to Anaya as a young woman and saw the devastation in Midir, she vowed to protect civilization from the rifts. After the death of her mother, Korander's drive to hunt proteans became obsessive. Everything she does is in the interest of financing her hunt.

Airship captain, protean hunter, tomb raider, burglar.
Accomplishments & Achievements
She won the Darkwrought in a drinking contest with a rich smuggler acquaintance.
Morality & Philosophy
Korander does not shy away from thievery, particularly the looting of ruins - she figures that if no one's using it, there's no reason she shouldn't take it, and uses her Midiri ancestry to justify this. For this reason she has racked up fines in a number of provinces which have laws protecting their archaeological sites. She does not kill sapient beings if she can help it and prefers to go about her business undetected by those who might object to it, but she will not balk at combat if it is necessary to achieve her goal.
