Avanelle
Avanelle
The daughter of a prominent armor manufacturer and a scholar of martial history, she was lulled to sleep with stories and accounts of swords, often mooning over the things in her mother’s shop or listening in on her father’s lectures. The family, all Undine, lived by the sea and made use of the flourishing trade markets in the shop, and her father enjoyed his life as a well regarded scholar. Fresh fish was caught by a squabbling Avanelle with a spear bigger than her body, and then cooked at home for dinner in her childhood. By the time she could walk, she was begging to learn to practice and use the things she had heard about since she could understand speech. Avanelle was a voracious student as a youth, and she became a page to a governmental guard, learning politics alongside swordplay–diplomacy, she found, was a kind of dueling, and she was a lover of the duel in all things. Ultimately, Avanelle was educated and graduated top of her class, learning to be a diplomat and member of the military guard at home. She is young, and eager to make her name in the world and still considers herself someone with a lot to learn.
