Androids

The Simulated Souls

The Replication of Human Perfection

That is what the humans of the Gilded Era strived for when they created the Azai Protocol and its factories. And from these factories, the Androids were spawned. initially, they were quite robotic in appearance and stilted in speech, but as time went on androids became more and more... real. While some were skeptical and even fearful of these mechanical mimics, they would soon learn to respect each other, as in the wake of the calamity people would need the help of their new cohorts.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The look of an android is entirely dependent on how old it is, with Gilded Age androids looking more like robots, and recently built ones looking almost entirely like humans.

Growth Rate & Stages

Androids do not grow, they are made to look like one age and do not change throughout their lifetime.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Androids can eat almost any organic material as their stomach consists of a bio-generator. Alternatively, they can consume things like gasoline, lantern oil and other types of fuels but doing this will create more waste.

Biological Cycle

Even though androids do not change physically, they do change throughout their lives as they learn and grow mentally, though there is a limit. Androids can only maintain about 24 years of knowledge after which their AI will begin to degrade as they start to develop Rampancy. to avoid this, androids are forced to periodically wipe their memories.

Additional Information

Facial characteristics

Other than their resemblance to humans, Androids commonly have visible plates of metal and visible seams where the parts of their synthetic skin meet.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Androids are mostly found wherever humans are, aka, mainly around the Plains.

Average Intelligence

As their knowledge is mainly gained at creation from the ever-growing databanks of the Azai Protocol, androids are known to be incredibly smart.

Civilization and Culture

Naming Traditions

Androids commonly have two names. One that the Azai Protocol gave to them commonly referred to as their serial number and one that they come up with that commonly is a human name. the serial number of an Android is based on how many androids were produced before them that year along with a unique codename. another naming convention that can be used is the use of their unique codename, with the number of the times they have had their memories reset.

History

Androids were first conceived by one Professor Monty Azai as a working-class of robots that could help with mental tasks or tasks too dangerous for humans to accomplish, but soon Monty's little passion project veered off the rails a bit. the plans for his androids soon became more humanoid than before, be became fascinated with creating something resembling people, replicating human biological perfection. Nearly a decade into Monty's passion project his first (and only) factory was completed, but before he could see it activated, he fell ill; old age had finally caught up to him. Soon after Prof. Azai's inevitable passing, the factory suddenly and mysteriously roared to life, beginning its never-ending work in building and improving the Android race.
