Makar

Makar is one of the three captains of the Company of the Black Goat, an extremely ruthless and cruel mercenary company. Recently, with Kharchu's death and Sineas' recovery from a curse, Makar stands as the sole commander of the Company of the Black Goat.

History

Following the death of the original leader of the Company of the Black Goat, Makar ascended to become captain of the company. While Kharchu controlled the cavalry and Sineas the archers, Makar controlled the bulk of the company's forces: the infantry.

Recent Events

Makar was first encountered by Evia, Antares, Vulcan, and Jaakob during their travels through the war-torn Riverlands, where Makar and his men took control of the Shy Dryad Inn, extorting the owner for food and drink. Makar questioned Evia and the party about their intentions for travelling through the Pale Valley before saying his farewells.
Makar would be encountered a second time by Antares after his capture by Kharchu's men. Makar was convinced to bring Kharchu over to negotiate with Antares, and later convinced Kharchu not to kill Antares, instead persuading Kharchu to throw Antares into a barn with Kharchu's war boar Shigtai. After being forced to halt his "show" and being chastised by Oleg Voronoff, Makar put Antares to work helping Usko heal Captain Sineas of the Vetrovnjaks' curse.
Makar would be persuaded to turn against his employer Oleg Voronoff in exchange for 80 pounds of gold by Antares, agreeing to fight for Myslav Voronoff instead. Additionally, Makar had his fellow captain Kharchu and several of his lieutenants put to death - deeming their intimidation and bloodlust as too much of a liability to the company. However, Makar would later abandon Myslav as well, and razed Pridbor to the ground before fleeing the Riverlands entirely.
Many weeks later, Makar would be encountered by Hinge, Lyra, Ravil, Petra, and Jaakob in the town of Miyagorsk, working for the Patriot faction of the civil war. He and his men were seen helping expel Solarians living in the Heartlands. Makar was also revealed to be in an intimate relationship with Tamara, one of Lord Stanislav Volkov's court sages who was also leading the Patriot war effort in the Heartlands.
In private, Petra revealed to the party that most of her family was killed by Makar's men when they attacked Pridbor, and that Makar had raped her during the sacking of the town.
