Captain Pavlov

Captain Pavlov was House Velkov's chief army commander. He was a former member of the Black Bastards who survived his 20-year service in the Highlander's Range before finding work with House Velkov, where he led the near destruction of the White Claw tribe, and later commanded forces during the Siege of New Severgrad and the Second Battle of White Bay.

History

Captain Pavlov was first encountered by Tema, Evia, Jaakob, and Angelus in Velkov's keep, drilling soldiers. When the party was brought on to help Saravslaw Velkov negotiate a peace with the White Claws, Captain Pavlov led the expeditionary team - composed of the party and several experienced trackers. 
Despite suffering an attack by White Claw hunters, the party and Pavlov's men eventually neared the White Claw village, though Pavlov was convinced to stay behind with his men on account of his infamy with the White Claws. While the negotiations with the White Claws were successful, Valvyre demanded that Captain Pavlov be handed over to her people to answer for his crimes against her tribe. 
Pavlov, spying on the conversation through his crow familiar, learned of Valvyre's demands and surrendered himself to the White Claws, leaving his men a message asking Saravslaw Velkov to not seek vengeance against the White Claws if Pavlov were to die.
Captured by the White Claws, Pavlov was forced to fight Valvyre in single combat, and triumphed - though he suffered serious wounds in the battle. After slaying Valvyre, Pavlov was shot to death by several White Claw hunters, with his body stripped of loot and left in the Griffon Ridge.
