The Dragon Guard | Väktarna

After many years of deliberation of how to deal with the power of the scales of the World dragon, Bahamut decides that this must be given to the mortals. They cannot unlock their full power and therefore cannot bring about the mayhem that a corrupted God could. However they must still be kept safe from less scrupulous divinities. He therefore creates the race of Dragonborn, and forms the Dragon Guard, and charges them with protecting the holy Alavil, seeking out it's brethren, and keeping them hidden from the powers of Evil.
The order performed it's duty and build several temples, vaults and sanctuaries around the world. They also located more of the Alavil and hid them in these sanctuaries.
Over time however, it's importance dwindled and long before the endless night the order failed and the last members of the Dragon Guard were scattered.
