Flux

What is Flux?     When a wild surge occurs the energies from the event will occasionally not fully dissipate remaining as fluttering particles of wild energy in the Aether. When these particles build up enough they can occasionally make the transition into the physical realm via a process referred to Auretic transition. This is the same process which allows Auramancers to function. These particles are referred as Flux dust in this state. Flux will occasionally gather in large enough quantities to form Flux crystals.   When flux touches an object the chaotic energies are imparted into that object, destabilizing the object and allowing the formulas to give and take aspects. If left next to an object without any formulas to direct the change, the area will simply become prone to more frequent wild Surges. Flux is usually carried in bags specially enchanted to be resistant to this change.   The most common place for Flux to be harvested is deep within Wilds, as these are the areas where the physical laws are the least stable. Moving so deep into Wild areas is very dangerous, with entire organizations dedicated to the training of adventurers to collect Flux, such as the Delvers. Despite such large efforts to train Delvers, the mortality rate is still very high. Such difficulties collecting the material make it a very valuable resource, with entire economies being based on its trading and aquisition.
