Vatroria

Seven years before our story takes place, the world of Vatroria was brought to ruin in an event known as the Fall. This event has had widespread consequence, with the rulers now having perished inside the castle. Fiends from the darkest parts of other realms fester there now, cultivating energy and power to one day unleash it on the world, ultimately ending life as it is known before moving on to their next target. Their influence has crept into the land, with malformed creatures with a thirst for destruction now on the prowl at their command. These creatures can be incredibly powerful, having caused many deaths since the start of the Fall. Most of the world is left without any form of order, the few surviving parts being kept as strongholds for survivors, where they can be given food and water. These strongholds, however, are a temporary solution to a much bigger problem. Something must be done to stop the fiends within the castle before they've built up the power to wreak as much destruction as they'd like.
