The Grey Tragedy

The tragedy of Sir Leandros the Grey and his sister, the children of Rickardis Glore (the youngest son of Emperor Isidorus Glore, the Subjugator and Margareth the Greycut and younger brother to Emperor Calavius Glore, the Demon). Sir Leandros was to have many children. Ghaul Othall was an integral part of the Tragedy, and became known for his skill. The Bastard's Brood is another main piece of this Tragedy.   At the beginning of the fifth century, House Glore looked to be expanding at a great level. Emperor Isidorus the Subjugator had many children, and each were healthy. This was good for House Glore, as it would secure their rule over the Iron Empire in a less precarious manner. His two sons, Calavius and Rickardis grew and later succeeded him. Calavius married and had children, and Rickardis did as well. Calavius fathered four children, and Rickardis fathered two. Of Rickardis' children, there was one boy named Leandros, and one girl named Elayne. Rickardis' wife, Margareth Carantus had the nickname of "Greycut", which Leandros was later carry on as he became known as Leandros the Grey.
Leandros, seeking a suitor, ventures out to a masquerade ball. There he meets an illustrious masked woman. The two are infatuated with one another and steal away to a side room to make love. Only the next day do they come out of their drunken stupor and see each other for the first time. Brother and sister. Leandros and Elayne. Elayne had stolen away to the ball for some fun, angry at their parents for being so overprotective. She had not meant to sleep with anyone. The two despaired, ashamed and plotted to keep the secret. However, soon Elayne found herself pregnant. They both wanted rid of the incest-born babe, but the required tea was outlawed to Elayne. She was not allowed to sleep with anyone and asking for the tea would alert of her failings. But in the cases where past Glore members have gotten pregnant with a lowborn babe, the rulers of Glore demand that the babe still be born as it is a being of Glore blood, better than the commonfolk, and there were far too few Glore's in Vaskeer. She would be forced to have the baby.
So, Elayne sought extreme measures and hid away while she had the baby. She told Leandros that she had the baby aborted. But instead she gave it to the Bastard's Brood to raise. The Bastard's Brood are the villains of this story. Two decades after the prior event they began to fight against House Glore. They were growing in power and raiding all along the barren Shield province, seeking to overthrow the current leadership. Ghaul Othall leads the knights to fight them alongside Leandros the Grey. A great battle ensues and Leandros kills the Bastards. Elayne hears about this too late and rushed over there only to find their young son dead at his father's unknowing feet.
Rickardis and Margareth die. Ghaul saves someone else. A bastard of the brood survives the initial battle and goes to kill Elayne. Both their families die.
