The Godbane Family

The royal family of the Highlanders is the Godbane family. They became royalty during the Burning War, as the people of the Highlands crowned the first High King Adelbrand I Godbane, who did not want the crown, but he was their best bet at beating back Iron. It is thanks to Adelbrand that Iron did not completely squash the Highlands. Now, they rule from Chillhold beneath the Iron Emperor, cowed beneath him in sworn servitude. The Godbane family have been trying to preserve Highlander culture for over 100 years against the oppression of Iron.
The Godbane family wields Earthshaker, a Xandrian artifact, that adorns their wall as a relic. It was gifted to them by the emperor when they bent the knee. The sword can cause earthquakes and tremors, toppling buildings and disorientating enemies.
