Vasahldey

Born from the conflict of Order and Chaos in the Primordial Expanse rests Vasahldey, the World Tree. Where most World Trees in the multiverse act as metaphysical pathways between realms, Vasahldey is one, mostly unbroken, whole of a world. Eleven branches as vast as continents sprout from its massive trunk, the clashing gravities creating strange and dangerous environments that have long kept the races, humanity's children, separate for many centuries. Now though, with the advent of gravity barges, cultures are reuniting with long lost brethren and together rediscovering the lands inhabited by things ancient and powerful. But with these new discoveries come new conflicts and old dangers unearthed. The most terrible of these dangers is a belief held by every race, culture, and religion on Vasahldey. To all on the World Tree, a shooting star is not a sign of hope. The only wish one would make upon such an omen is for it not to carry the tree's bane, the rot, the Gridel. The Gridel hunger for the souls which power all life and all magic on Vasahldey, and they will do anything to claim it as their own. The Gridel have remained dormant for many centuries, appearing only sporadically throughout history. Now however, with the gravity barges opening travel across Vasahldey and few beings still powerful enough to oppose their full might, they begin to rear their terrible heads.
