Berta, blood of Colin:

Berta is a Human, as was Colin. Berta is not only a part of the golden council, but also the chancellor of the brazen university. Berta was a gifted child, hardly requiring or accepting mentoring, and if she was forced to go, she would often end up teaching her teachers. Berta had little respect for any she considered less inteligent than her. She would set her sights on one person, and would not accept any other path in life, she wanted to learn from Ergwin Eredine. However even her stubbernos was bested by the tradition of the royal council participants, and she would have to suffer through years of service in the golden court before being able to move to Farlen and join the Ogyg fleet. She would quickly prove herself within said fleet and also attracted the attention of Erg, who at the time was not yet in charge of the fleet. At first Erg did not want to take an apprentice, but her will was stronger than his, and eventually he would take her into his unit and teace her in the art of the artificer. Berta was amazed by the things she learned, and Erg was surprised by her ability to keep up. They had planned to continue working together until the royal council called Berta back to duty, tho Berta herself was unsure if she wanted to answer the call, she had fallen in love with her life and with Erg, starstruck by his knowledge. Yet her love was unrequited and unspoken. Eventually it was not her duties that seperated the two of them, but rather the promotion of Erg (Erg was 61 years old, Berta was 31 years old), after which he would leave his unit and have less and less time for teaching Berta. Berta found herself in the position that Erg once had, despite that not being what she wanted, and she decided that since she had only joined the fleet for the mentoring of Erg, it was now time to leave the fleet, which she did with a heavy heart. She left Ronim and lived on an island for the next 4 years. She hadn't told anyone, and it caused a large uproar within the palace, who did not know where she was and weather she was dead or alive. However after enjoying her last "4 years of freedom", on the day of her promotion she showed up in front of the palace without warning. Since then she has lived up to her duties, and also enriched Bazure and the people of Ronim with her inventions and contributions to the Brazen college, all which are only side projects for her main duties, as a member of the royal council. (lvl 17 artificer, lvl 5 ranger, age 49)
