Vampire Class System

Vampires of Sombra City class system Altimo- The highest of vampire nobility usually being from the main 5 vampire families. Those being the Noxviern, Blutrache, Ruinbra, Sangator, or the Vespleste families. These higher vampires are either directly members of the families or those sired by the family members, a honor not given often at all with only about 12 recorded cases being known in the over 1000 years the families have existed. These nobles rule Sombra City with the Blutrache family being the most powerful especially after being backed by some of the people, who would later become the Flock after the war, who gave the Blutrache great support and even some magical enhancements to set them apart from the others. These families create the laws of the province and are known to display fabulous wealth as they live in the Moonlight district which is located in the upper area of Sombra City were mansions and crypts line every street. Infrbiens- These are very powerful vampires, more than a normal vampire already is. They usually have some great talent of some kind either magical or some physical prowess. These vampires are either created by vampires of their own class, men who were brought back to life as vampires by one of the Nobel families. (This is different from being sired, as it is just more powerful necromancy instead of a mortal being allowed to be bitten and turned by a vampire of the Altimo class) or were some of the originally created vampires by the moon goddess who have sired a respectable number of vampires but still bow before the power of the Altimo class. Their role in Sombra City tends to be guards or personal mages/advisors for the Altimo class or lower nobles who watch over the less populated regions of the greater Sombra province. (A province in Varonia is basically like a state, that meaning a collection of hundreds of cities, baronies, and such all under the control of a capital city which most capital cities are about the size of ten cities combined which is why each province is named after its capital. Sombra City is the second largest capital city in Varonia being the size of around 30 cities combined. They are only beat out by Celias, the Empire’s capital which takes up 90% of province which is also the largest province in Varonia.) This class is also usually loyal to one of the of the greater families. Pectis- These vampires are the spawn of the Infrbiens class usually being called Dhampirs as they are considered not true vampires, as most most have less vampiric traits though those turned by the more ancient of the Infrbien class are pure vampires as they aren’t diluted in any case, but they are still treated decently by other vampires. These are the most numerous of the classes being around 60% of the vampires in Sombra City. These are the every men of vampire society, owning businesses, being foot soldiers for the Infrbiens or the families, being in charge of trade and commerce, and many more mundane roles. They tend to also require less blood to survive and more diluted vampires have sunlight sensitivity instead of sun being full on lethal. This ability has raised some to honorary titles of being in the Infrbien class, this special case happens for important diplomats and trade officials as well they they are coveted for their ability to go to other places and not have to constantly fear burning alive. But that is a very special case for the class and they tend to be more of a middle class. Pesanguis- These are the lowest class of vampires being nicknamed ‘The 1/4’ as they are the spawn of Pectis class who is in itself mostly considered the class of Half vampires and so these spawn are considered to be a 1/4 vampire. Though this is not to say they get a really rough time of it as well vampires are very egotistic and just being not mortal and having a drop of vampiric blood in you, to them, makes you a far superior being. This class often does take on lower jobs and look more like people but they are all still minorly wealthy. They take on roles as mercenaries, servants, engineers, directors raven trainers (basically a dire raven is a massive raven like monster that can be saddled and used as a mount), and odd jobs they can acquire. They are a relatively small class who only makes up 10% of the vampire population and tend to spread very thin around the province due to for how small their numbers are they are highly sought after as servants as the families see their kind as a novelty to them.
