Trader's Island

Trader's Island is the smallest provinces in Varonia but for its size it holds incredible amounts of power as this island is the capital of the Trader's Union and is one of the premier trade hubs of the world. Also the island while small on a map isnt really that small as the main dwellings are in caves deep below the surface of the island where most of their citizens are and where most political meetings are held. The entire surface on the other hand is devoted to being a market hub and exposition for any new product that people want to sell. This upper area, like all Trader Union owned provinces, is open to all factions and a very well equipped mercenary guard is their to keep the peace and prevent fights from breaking out between people or opposing factions. Though the island also serves another purpose, that of a weapons depo for the Trader's Union's biggest organization that has primary control of the Trader's Union, The Rever Corporation, Varonia's biggest weapon manufacturer and seller that came to prominence after the collapse of Forgelect.
Around the island their is a species of creatures that any visitors are the Larecks. These are massive sea beasts that roam the seas having picked up the nickname of "The Great Sourges" from local merfolk who have been fighting these creatures since the beginning of time. But Trader's Island has the most trouble with them as the creatures large around the length and size of a train car their upper torso is like a more ravenous merfolk but more than triple their size with razor sharp claws that can easily cut through wood and can damage metal same for their teeth. The lower half of these massive creatures is that of a giant squid with barbed tentacles that share the same sharpness of its claws which has been able to take down ships handily unless they are metal gunships. This has made it so ships have to be accompanied unless they wish to be completely destroyed by the creatures.
