Unda (un-duh)
An island that is roughly circular, with an area of 378 miles, Unda is the tarnished yet stubbornly proud crowning jewel of the Alstroemerian Isles.
Demographics
The majority of Undans are human, with a large portion being indigenous Alstroemerians. However, due to Salician rule, there is a prominent population of elves and half-elves living in the city as well. Travellers of all sorts visit Unda, though very few stay.
Government
Unda has no government. Theoretically, the fourteen noble houses of Alstroemeria rule over Unda with joint control; however, the city's underbelly lacks all control. Merchants control the city with an iron fist, buying out the few law enforcement officers that exist, manipulating the market as they desire, and keeping the lower-class majority crushed underfoot due to food scarcity. Still, the city runs rampant with smugglers, pirates, conmen, and drug dealers. There are no laws in Unda—asides from the governing principle of "don't get caught."
Defences
Unda is entirely undefended—but no government in their right mind would ever want to claim it. It is known to be a city of scum.
Infrastructure
The infrastructure in Unda is quite poor. Buildings are ramshackle, made out of concrete and whatever other materials can be found. They are stacked atop one another haphazardly. The roads are poor and ill-kept. The gutters are only maintained on the West Side of the city, where those with wealth visit and live; in the East, they are in ruin. Camps of homeless flood the East Side, and only grow as time goes on. There are few hospitals, and even fewer that cater to the poor.
Geography
The city is divided into rings, each which has an East and West Side. Arethusa's springs make up the uppermost ring, at the top of the island's small mountain and the center of the island's area.
