Bahili

Geography

The continent of Bahili is vaguely shaped like a thick crescent moon with its opening facing south-east. It is made up of two enormous primary landmasses each forming one half of the crescent and coming together at a relatively thin land-bridge in the rough north-west of the continent. Tectonic activity is fairly low, especially compared to Achaea, and the land is relatively flat with only short mountainous areas and hilly regions. Hydrographic activity however is quite severe and both halves of the Bahili crescent are ran through by rivers of considerable length and width. The single most notorious location however is a small channel in the land-bridge between Western and Eastern Bahili.

Ecosystem

Despite being surrounded by warm currents and its relatively flat land, much of Bahili is relatively dry especially in its northern sections. Though it features no outright deserts, much of northern Bahili is covered by sprawling savannas, while cooler, more temperate grasslands are common in the western quadrant. Temperate Forests can be found in south-western and central Bahili, but tropical rainforests and jungles are dominant across the much of the eastern coastline, stretching considerably in-land towards Bahili's largest inland sea and being found sporadically along the northern coastlines as well.

History

To the unceasing anger of Achaean nations, the people of Bahili lay a claim to the vaunted title of cradle of humanity. Archeological digs estimate the first Bahilian civilizations to have emerged thousands of years ago and though they are not currently as advanced as their northern neighbors, most of them have managed to unify after long periods of tribal warfare and create societies that rival many of them in size, and sometimes even wealth.
