Creators

The Creators are a group of (either seven or nine) supernatural beings who are believed by many to have created the world of Fraxinal (and the plane of Elkoi), from their home in Kriiza. Unlike some other pantheons, the Creators are not thought to manifest on Fraxinal or to intervene in mortal affairs, but many people claim that the Creators nevertheless grant them strength and power and help to improve their lives in small but important ways.   Belief in the (nine) Creators originated amongst the Quelstre; but following the official conversion of Astracca to this religion, as part of which many of the Creators were assimilated with native Astralli gods (and retained the Astralli names), belief in nine True Creators has existing alongside belief in seven Astralli Creators. The co-existence of these religions is not without some controversy: it will be noted that there is no perfect one-to-one equivalency between the pantheons, and that equivalent deities in the two religions are not always of the same gender. Some scholars have argued that it is inherently false to attribute human notions of gender, and possibly also of individual identity, to immaterial and immortal divinities.

True Creators

  • Anket is the goddess of creation and life, said to have given mortals the gifts of marriage, fertility and birth. Her symbol two interlocking red circles above a thin smile.
  • Balbet is the god of silence and death, said to have given mortals the gifts of fate, prophecy and peace. His symbol is a face, half statue and half skull.
  • Bettonek is the god of fire and earth, said to have given mortals the gifts of mining, invention and crafting. His symbol is an erupting volcano.
  • Chevista is the genderfluid deity of time and the sun, said to have given mortals the gifts of agriculture and harvests. Their symbol is the image of two wheat-sheaves inside a white circle.
  • Grinauf is the agender deity of plants and trees, said to have given mortals the gifts of medicine and poison. Their symbol is a set of three vertical leaves of different types.
  • Pakstot is the goddess of air, water and weater, said to have given mortals the gifts of freedom and travel. Her symbol is the image of three blue horizontal wavy lines inside a blue triangle.
  • Suanell is the goddess of darkness and magic, said to have given mortals the gifts of language, secrets and retribution. Her symbol a black hand, fingers spread, with a purple circle in the palm.
  • Vimek is the god of knowledge and order, said to have given mortals the gifts of justice, honour and nobility. His symbol is an eye in front of a golden sword.
  • Zushif is the non-binary deity of the wilderness, said to have given mortals the gifts of nature and war. Their symbol is a vine-wrapped bow and arrow.

Astralli Creators

  • Abeaste is the goddess of water, weather and travel, equivalent to the goddess Pakstot.. Her symbol is a blue clockwise swirl with star-points coming off of it.
  • Chicherru is the goddess of creation, life and marriage, equivalent to the goddess Anket. Her symbol is a silver seven-sided star.
  • Glabiasca is the god of agriculture and the sun, equivalent to the masculine aspect of the genderfluid deity Chevista. His symbol is a yellow semicircle emitting rays.
  • Pesmi is the non-binary deity of justice and death, generally seen as a combination of the gods Balbet and Vimek. Their symbol is a pair of balanced silver scales.
  • Scoede is the god of knowledge, crafting and the land, equivalent to the god Bettonek. His symbol is a pair of crossed flaming hammers.
  • Suanelle is the goddess of darkness, deceit, secrets and magic, equivalent to the goddess Suanell. Her symbol is the image of a finger in front of smiling lips.
  • Zushi is the non-binary deity of nature, hunting and warfare, combining aspects of the agender deity Grinauf and the non-binary deity Zushif. Their symbol is a pair of masks, one green and one red.

A small group of theologians and philosophers (from both religions) also posit the existence of an original being or energy which created the Creators, usually called Kizet the Originator, the symbol of which is a circle around a nine-sided star. Some believe that Kizet represents a single deity; others claim that Kizet refers to an original pantheon; while still others argue that Kizet is a name which should be given to the moment at which the Creators spontaneously came into being.
