Amulet of Symsight 2

Amulets of Symsight are used to create searchers, who travel to Stechtis to gain first-hand experience of the symbols used in Symbology. Each small amulet consists of a copper chain and a pendant inlaid with small gemstones in the shape of a stylised eye: moonstone is used to produce the sclera, and different gems are used to create differently-coloured irises. A single amulet usually includes around 15 small gemstones (each around 1 carat in weight): materials alone can be worth more than 6 aftabs. The first amulet, worn by Meng Tao, the First Searcher, is said to have had a jet-black iris.

The creation of these amulets is a well-kept secret, although it is rumoured to require a great deal of bloodshed. and for this reason, existing amulets are valued very highly by researchers. Mundane amulets in the same style as these objects, which are not created in the proper manner, have proven inadequate for the creation of searchers.

When this amulet is Worn, it enhances the wearer's ability to identify symbols, enchantments and spells: when you wear this amulet and concentrate on an enchanted object, you can discover what it does without needing to Experiment. More importantly, these amulets enable the creation of seekers, the symbologists tasked with gaining first-hand experience of by visiting Kriiza. The creation of these amulets is a well-kept secret, but it is rumoured to be very difficult and require a great deal of bloodshed; for this reason, existing amulets are valued very highly by researchers.
