Zap
Ah, the spell that every prankster out there mastered within the first hour of learning about it. The shock this spell creates isn't harmful but it sure does wear on the nerves when little Jimmy zaps you every time he comes around you so that he can distract you for a moment to steal your spectacles and run off with them... that is not a specific example, I swear.
More to the point, many primal sages don't realize this even counts as a spell, it's so simple. It can easily be mistaken for something natural.
Effect
Zap does basically the same thing as the static shock when one touches another after rubbing their wool socks on the carpet.
Side/Secondary Effects
The failure of this spell will result in a painful shock to both the caster and the victim, but such a thing is a miniscule deterrent to most.

Well, the normal things regarding static electricity. Can't zap someone if they're wearing a rubber suit.
