Personal history
Jesse was the son of the prodigal daughter of the Argyris, Amanda.
They were famous (at least in the world of supernatural) for hunting and killing all types of supernatural creatures, from vampires to werewolves. Faes, deadly demons and vicious ghosts. The family is part of a union of hunters called The United Front that was founded by the Helsing family.
However, during a coming of age ritual, Lorrence Xavior and some of his ‘followers’ attacked and slaughtered every one of his family members as a revenge plot. Jesse was (seemingly) the only surviving member of the Reids.
Unexpectedly, Wilhelm Xavior, the head of Xavior’s clan and Lorrence’s father sought remorse for the poor child and instead welcomed him into his clan. He raised Jesse as his own son and even grown to favor him after a couple years. This made his other children quite jealous, unfortunately.
At some point Jesse exacts revenge on Lorrence and successfully kills him.
During the most recent year, a war broke out between the hunters and Xavior’s that left their leader missing. They have no idea if he is dead or alive.
Xaviors wife Lucinda Xavior took over the clan and tried her best to keep the peace but the clan ultimately splintered off and formed newer clans with Xavior's children as the lead.
Jesse, Lovelind Xavior and Terra Xavior kept the closest contact with their mother and even formed a (rather shaky) alliance with each other. But Derin and Wilhelm II cut off their old family altogether.

His family was the Argyris his mother being Amanda Argyris and who he thought was his biological father Bertil Argyris.
He is the unknown son of a Wylan. This was a secret kept from everybody, even Jesse.
Through Bertil he is related to Oxenstierna.
After becoming a vampire, Jesse has accepted many fledgling as his own.
