The Enclave

Initiated days after the Rewriting, the Enclave was created by a disgruntled ex-Flame of Starsong as a hub of spies and knowledge. They lasted for about 200 years, then died off once the founders...well, died off. The children kept it going as a way of honoring what their parents had built, but the grandchildren didn’t have the same want.   The founder was getting into his later years when he was cast out with the disbanding of the Flames. Seeing his idol hysterical and having his home taken away, forced to cut off all ties with friends he had known since he was old enough to remember- it broke him.   It took a while- he was an Imagination Mage, so he had a few thousands years to spare- but he eventually decided to start a counter organization, dedicated to keeping a firm hand on the goings-on of the Continent. Problem was, it takes immortality or numbers to do that, and this beast had neither. He only managed to scrounge up 13 creatures: 5 ex-magicians, 3 magicians’s childrens who needed something to do, 3 Experiments, 1 other ex-Flame who had disobeyed Starsong’s order, and 1 who had a circumstance that requires more information.   You see, there were Kinds who lived in the Voidlands. But they aren’t… right. Most have Mindless tendencies akin to Darkflames, and most of them have an aversion to light and flowers and stuff like that. Simply put, they’re vampires. They almost all left when the Voidlands became the Sunless Lands, and, interestingly enough, fled to the Deeplands.   The final Enclave member was one of these creatures, and the lonely daughter of a brooding king. Born with an unusual thirst for light, she found the founding creature and was a strong influence for most of his plans. For even though she craved light, this daughter was just as conniving and evil the Darkflames, and it was mainly due to the hole she left that the Enclave fell apart.
