Skylene and Lambert

In the Bellows there once lived a girl named Skylene who was being chased by all-powerful creatures she didn’t understand. First they sent a house-sized snake to attack her school, and when she chased a mysterious figure who had gloated about releasing it, they turned her into a doll, who was then given to a girl who was being transported in an illegal slave trade. She stayed with them, helped them through roadblocks, and aided them in an escape. After that they ran into a kindly witch, who both agreed to shelter the girls and turn Skylene back into a human. She then left them and ran back to her home, only to discover that it had been burned down and her family scattered. She then traveled back to her school, narrowly beating a sentient thunder storm in the process, and discovered that her mother was teaching there, the same woman who had left her family when Skylene was small. She procured a scholarship, and got to know her mother. But one day, it all came crashing down during an all-school baseball game, when the same being she had been seeing her whiteouts appeared, telling her that she had to win the game for her side or else she would die. She lost, and the beings appeared, telling everybody that it was time for her to die. The crowd protested against it, then they all froze except for her and a boy that had said that they could kill him instead. It turned out that the beings would only accept his sacrifice, but Skylene wasn’t having it. Secretly she was feeling drained and was willing to die if it meant all of this would end. This was when the pain in her stomach got worse, which she of course blamed on the beings. Despite the pain, she insisted that she get another chance. To appease her, the beings summoned a climbing wall, telling the boy and Skylene that whoever reached the top first would die. At first it seemed like no contest, but Skylene pushed through it and reached the top first.   That’s when the boy announced that he was actually her son, and her pain was actually contractions. She doubted until the beings lifted the spell hiding her pregnant body. She was shocked. He said that when the beings approached him when he was younger and told him he would grow up to threaten their Kind and that they were here to vaporize him. He then asked if they would send him back in time so he could meet his mother- who, to him, had recently disappeared. They agree and the girl knew who the mysterious boy was who had been saving her life the entire time. The beings made the boy disappear, afterwards revealing that they inseminated her, also taking off the disguise of a nearby boy who had always been trying to suck up to her, revealing that he had provided the sample. They told her that her blood was special, and the combination of human-ish DNA and their DNA created a warrior which needed to fight against those who would destroy them. They then disappeared, leaving her with more questions than answers. They also transported their own back to wherever and unfroze everybody. They had hidden her belly, but she just barely managed to slip out and give birth without them noticing. This left her an outcast, loner, and hungry for revenge, but this did not stop her from giving her son the best life she could.   So you might be asking: why did the beings do this to an innocent girl? Well, the short answer is that they were all scientists. They weren’t monsters, but they cared more about the end result then what they had to do to get there. Long answer is that they had tried to set up Arin- the father- and Skylene so they could have Lambert- the boy - the normal way, but as it turned out, Arin was not Skylene’s type. He was sweet, but a coward. He also didn’t know how to act like a human, which was a big turn-off. So the Forgotten Kind- the beings- went to plan B. They had originally meant for Skylene to have no idea what was happening, but a renegade Forgotten Kind kept throwing problems at her in the hopes that she would die and escape from the Bellows that way. Skylene needed an answer for this, so the Forgotten Kind made up that there were evil beings trying to make her life horrible- not that far from the truth, as it turned out. The whole baseball game debacle was due to meddling and bad planning. The answer that would cause the least amount of attention was making Skylene look like a martyr, revealing everything where nobody else could here, and having her disappear afterward. Lambert had lied about the Forgotten Kind threatening to kill him, but any other answer would make her suspicious about what the Bellows really were. This blew up in thier faces when Skylene crept off when Lambert was the right age and commited suicide, appearing in Purple Dragon Labs extremely confused. As soon as she was on her feet, she demanded Starsong tell her what was going on. She said that Lambert was an Elemecktal. Once Skylene knew what that meant, she bullied a scientist into making her immortal. She was making escape plans when she misinterpreted a tender moment between Lambert and Arin, maiming Arin and getting kicked out. Lambert, in a moment of anger over Arin’s injuries, told her that he would stay.   Skylene roamed Valorium until she ran into Felmaw. Seeing herself in the young Elemecktal, she told him her story and insisted she go with him. He agreed, and she ended up saving his life. Oddly enough, this made him send her away, but she stayed nearby, protecting him like a guardian angel. She loved this. It made her feel like she had control for once in her life. She had a silent period when her son wasn’t able to board a raft in time when Valorium exploded. It hurt even more when it was because he had been launching rafts and had taken too many risks. When she reached Daggaria and took a few centuries to rest, she started an organization to protect young Elekind that were victims of Project Preserve. Finally, in an epic final stand, she fell while protecting the inhabitants of Mystery Island from the marauding manticors.
