Pirates

Pirates can come from just about anywhere, though they are much more common in Eleris. There are tons of coastal cities that move around and some hidden away within caves along clifts sides. Pirates do live by a code that has been around since the first group of pirates, though not all that strictly followed.

Ocean Pirates

Pirates that sail the ocean often look for loot that has fallen off of shot-down airships, resources from Floating Islands, or to pillage a coastal city. They will often buy fully loaded Soul Gems to use since most pirates on the sea are not magic users, though there are the occasional sorcerer and wizard.

Air Pirates

There are a lot of necromantic pirates that fly through the air with most likely stolen airships. The necromantic pirates will go after passenger ships so they can steal as many souls as they can and then sell them to the highest bidder. Air pirates will also go after trade ships and Sky Cities.

The Code

A pirate is to follow a set of rules, but since these are after all pirates that may have little morals, they are not strictly followed. Some pirates may be more strict while others may be more lack whether that is for better or worse. The making of the pirate code is the unknown same thing as the reasoning for it, but what is known is that breaking a rule could lead to a cursed crew, at least that's what the legends say.

Pirates Code

This is the set of rules that all pirates tend to follow, though not 100% since pirates are lawless to so degree.
  1. befriend others wisely
  2. Right of Parlay
  3. Whenever a pirate is to be marooned, they are to be given a loaf of bread, a bottle of water, and a pistol with a single shot
  4. Sharing of the spoils
  5. Equal share of any treasure
  6. Any man who falls behind is left behind
  7. Pirates to respect their fellows on the account. Knowingly targeting and sinking other pirate ships is strictly forbidden
  8. Killing a surrendered enemy is not allowed.
