Kuso

A country that takes up a lot of the grasslands and the first to form within Aukauria. Taking pride in being able to build character and toughen the skin, not with magic but by strength and constitution. Due to past hardships, Kuso has completely outlawed magic and would even go as far as to demonize magic users.

Laws

Crimes against Officials and Nobles

  • Assaulting or impersonating a Noble: Death.
  • Blackmailing an official: flogging and exile up to 10 years.
  • Bribery or attempted bribery of an official: exile up to 20 years and fine up to double the bribe amount.
  • Murder of a noble or official: death.

Crimes against the city

  • Arson: Hard labor up to 1 year, with fines and/or damages covering the cost of repairs plus 2,000 silver shards.
  • Espionage: Public Excution.
  • Fencing stolen goods: fine equal to the value of the stolen goods.
  • Theft: flogging followed by imprisonment up to tenday, hard labor up to 1 year, or a fine equal to the value of stolen goods.
  • Treason: Death.
  • Vandalism: Imprisonment up to tenday plus fine and/or damages covering the cost of repairs plus up to 100 silver shards.
  • Using magic: Flogging and imprisonment up to 20 years or public execution.
  • brandishing any type of magic item: confiscation, flogging, and up to 20 years of imprisonment, or public execution.

Crimes against citizens

  • Assult a citizen: Imprisonment up to a tenday, flogging, and damages up to 1,000 silver shards.
  • Blackmailing or intimidating a citizen: fine for damages up to 500 silver shards and edict.
  • Burglary: Imprisonment up to 3 months and damages equal to the value of stolen goods plus 500 silver shards.
  • Damaging property or livestock: Damages covering the cost of repairs or replacement plus up to 500 silver shards.
  • Disturbing the peace: fine up to 25 silver shards and edict.
  • Murdering a citizen: Death or hard labor up to 10 years, damages up to 1,000 silver shards paid to the victim's kin.
  • Robbery: Flogging.
  • Slavery: Hard labor for up to 10 years.

Culture

Kusians value strength and dexterity, favoring monks, fighters, and barbarians. Despite the disdain for magic, there are still Artificers but they are more like chemists and inventors and make things that benefit the community. Since Kuso is about working together to survive everyone is expected to pull their part in the community, valuing hard work and having a large family. Due to magic being so accepted by everyone else around the world, Kusians are very distrustful of outsiders and may not even service an outsider.

Demography and Population

Kuso has a population of about 7.8 million with 51% being male, and 49% being Female. The population density for Urban is 41%, suburban 41%, and rural is 18% with an average of 6 kids per family and short life expectancy; males have 44 years, females with 66 years. Most of the race groups are Teiflings with a small percentage of humans, orcs, and half-orc. There are a total of 17.76% of military personnel in the total population, 6.94% of the total population is active in the military and Kuso has a maximum of 48.25% of the total population that is able to fight if needed. The majority of the population is literate with a 3% unemployment rate and a 7% being in poverty.
