Valkyrie in Training

You have heard of the legends of the mythic Valkyries: noble warriors who reap the souls of the worthiest of warriors who have fallen honourably in battle to the halls of Folkvangr and Valhalla.   You have heard of the tales of Freyja Njordsdotter, the Vanir queen of the Valkyries and goddess of passion, love, sex, fertility, war and death; you have heard of the tales of Sigrun and Brynhildr, the leader of the Valkyries, reviving the souls of the dead to turn the tides of war; you have heard of the tales of Kara, Mist, and Rota, valkyries of the storm and rain and sleet; you have heard of Gunnr, the wisest of the Valkyries who choose among the fallen whether they are worthy enough for their place in Valhalla; you have heard of Hlathguthr Svanhvit, the Valkyrie who imposes judgement and retribution onto the horrid.   But have you ever heard of the tale of Thrud?
