Dragovirate Myth of Civilization

According to the most wise of Dragon-Sages, the birth of the Nation-States of the Smaller-Races have origin in the might and greatness of the Dragons themselves. It is through the show of dragonic superiority that lead to the formation of existing Nation-State cultures.

In time immemorial, the Smaller-Races were not yet wise enough themselves to band together and protect their collective interests. So together they spread and mixed, causing chaos and imbalance across the lands of the Elder Races. These were the lands for which the Elder fought one another, rending and gashing Elder blood and flesh into the very soil now despoiled by these Smaller Races and their inane minutia.

However, there was to be a Great Reckoning in the lands of Valient.
When thousands of savage Smaller-Races fell into conflict simultaneously, it was the great Vastellenorax who leapt from his resting grounds. It is said a single bound carried the Great Purple across the The BroadWater River.

A burst of Dragon-Breath laid low most of the battle. Those who survived had learned the price of outright chaos. In this, the Orks banded together, the Dwarves banded together, the Elfs banded together. Thus it came to be that the Smaller Races broke off into their respective corners, sulking and shaping their worlds around them to suit their needs.
