Gods of the Yotunn

The Yotunn is a council of gods who watch over the Devotees of Yotunn in return for sacrifice and worship. While there are many minor gods mostly being worshipped by shrines throughout the Kingdom of Nozu (and some in Babazin and even some areas of the Srefsian states) there are 7 Major gods. All of the major gods are represented within Yotunn temples, but most feature heavily a particular god and practice their worship and sacrifice accordingly. There are notable exceptions to the 7 major gods who influence the Devotees and are often featured alongside the major 7.

Major Gods (High Yotunn)

All 7 major gods of the Yotunn are the de facto head of the gods. Minor gods make up the Low Yotunn. You can consider the Low Yotunn more akin to demi-gods or angels rather than fully fledged gods.
Akkar
Akkar is the god of bloodlines, royalty, wealth, and power. Depicted as a wizened king of different races depending on the region, he is depicted in the High Temple of Nozu as an Oliphant. He enforces the will of the Nozuan monarchy and receives wealth and the service of a member of the royal line as sacrifice. Great works and obedience to the royal crown are considered acts of service to him. The King is expected to receive an explicit blessing from Akkar, as determined by the High Priest and Priest of Akkar in the High Temple of Nozu. Akkar is considered the king of the gods
Celest
Celest is the goddess of magic, knowledge, and growth. Depicted as a human woman (although sometimes as a cat) Celest is usually on the arm of Akkar. She is his wife and between them are the parents of the rest of the High Yotunn and much of the Low Yotunn. According to Yotunn lore, she was the sole god in the High Yotunn to oppose the Exodus and stole away enough magic for the people of Valeron to use before they left. Followers of her wish to preserve magic and magical knowledge, so anything that retains that knowledge is a sacrifice to her. Performing magic and teaching are considered acts of service to her. All those learning magic wish to receive a blessing from her.
Acre
Acre is the god of justice, retribution, and stoicism. Depicted historically as an orc, the original statue of Acre in the High Temple was dismantled and replaced with a strong looking human in the last 100 years. This original Orcish depiction still holds true in most other places, however. In Yotunn lore, Acre proposed the decision to abandon Valeron leading to the Exodus. He presides over all judicial actions of the Devotees, and serving criminal sentences and confessing your crimes are a sacrifice to him. Obeying the law and enforcing the law are considered acts of service to him. The Templars consider him their primary deity, and many display a depiction of him in their finery or armor. The Templar Commandant is expected to receive Acre's blessing before sentencing a criminal. Acre is the firstborn son of Akkar and Celest
Sinew
Sinew is the god of flesh, blood, and animals and the twin of Arcadia. They are both depicted as Goblins, however they are notably absent in pantheon displays of the High Yotunn, instead taking the form of various animals and plants. In Yotunn lore, Sinew is rarely in his Goblin form, and appears to Devotees in the form of (most often) a fox or a sheep depending on the message. Sacrificing animals, portions of meals, and blood are sacrificed to Sinew, as well as bones. Tending livestock, keeping animal companions, and being compassionate towards life are considered acts of service to him. Sinew is considered the closest friend of Devotees and Yotunn lore depicts many fables of kindness from Sinew. That said, cruelty and malice elicit vicious reactions from Sinew.
Arcadia
The goddess of crops, plants, and the trees and the twin of Sinew. Depicted sometimes as a Goblin; Arcadia is often represented as a flower or a tree. In Yotunn lore, Arcadia takes the form of ancient trees or as fields of flowers making her one of the more elusive gods in the High Yotunn. Often forgotten, Arcadia asks for simple sacrifices of fallen fruits, bark, and kindling. Sowing seeds and tending wildflowers are considered acts of service to her. Her main inclusion in Yotunn lore is her presence during acts of reconciliation; She is shown to grow magnificent flora to mark times of remarkable Devotee actions. In Yotunn lore, she is the only one to endorse Galde when he ascends to the Low Yotunn by gifting him a crown of wildflowers never before seen (thereafter named Galdean Flowers)
Korrina
Korrina is the goddess of the sea and the storms. Depicted often as Tortle or a Human woman, she is the patron god of the sea and is the reason the currents around Valeron entrap its citizens. In Yotunn lore, she is the creator of the first storms, but there is some disagreement and variance between whether or not she controls the storms or has lost control of them. She is also considered the goddess of a good trade, mostly due to Nozuan trade being mostly coastal. Water, salt, and fish are sacrifices to her. Sailing, fishing, and storm preparation are considered acts of service towards her. In Yotunn lore she is the youngest of all the High Yotunn and is often depicted as being somewhat immature and unpredictable compared to the rest. She is the most heavy handed when it comes to doling out blessings or cursing Devotees, and it is said her rage is what caused the first storms to form and the currents to be so treacherous.
Tatanis/Tatana
The god(dess) of beauty, performance, and illusion. Depicted as an androgynous elf, a female elf, or a male elf, Yotunn lore does not seem to make a decision on the gender of Tatanis/Tatana. It is likely Tatanis/Tatana can express whichever gender is most useful or convenient at the time, and in Yotunn lore they play the role of the trickster and seducer. Artworks, young beauties, and a good joke are sacrifices to Tatanis/Tatana. Dressing in fine clothes, making artworks and displaying it, and playing music are considered acts of devotion to Tatanis/Tatana. It is traditional that before every play, musical performance, or even prank the blessings of Tatanis/Tatana are desired. In Yotunn lore it is clearly defined that all High Yotunn gods are children of Akkar and Celest, but it is entirely unclear when Tatanis/Tatana was born in the order of the rest, nor is it ever explicitly mentioned that Tatanis/Tatana are offspring of those two.

Notable Minor Gods (Low Yotunn)

The Low Yotunn is an ever expanding list of niche gods, but there are some recurring deities who can sometimes have temples entirely devoted to them or at least be put in a notable position compared to the High Yotunn
Galde
In Yotunn lore, Galde was born a Human the way all Humans are born. However, through many great deeds and a final Trials of Acre, ascended to godhood and represents the ideal that all Devotees should follow. The followers of the Path of Galde also believe that Galde rose to be one of the High Yotunn, and that Akkar is not an actual god but a title. Galde is believed to be granted this title after taming Sinew, receiving the blessings of Arcadia, and charming Tatana. In the lore of the Path, Acre is said to have incited the Exodus as revenge for not receiving the title of Akkar themselves. In Nozuan Yotunn lore, Galde is merely an exceptional example of both humanity and all Devotees, performing acts of chivalry and greatness through devotion and hard work.
Goren
Depicted often as a dwarf, this is a god of darkness, fear, and the unexplored. Sometimes depicted as an antagonist in Yotunn lore, Goren is just as often depicted as a patron saint to explorers and the conquering of fear.
Mali
Mali is a notoriously debated topic among Priests and citizen Devotees alike, as sin, crime, and death are all considered to be apart of being mortal. However, Mali is sometimes depicted similarly to the Grim Reaper, and is often most seen overseeing graveyards depicted as a black owl. A few nocturnal creatures have been noted as depictions in Yotunn lore, such as rats, bats, and even cats. A telltale sign that it is a depiction of Mali, however, is its blindfold. To the few who follow Mali sometimes call them by many different names, and is currently considered heretical by the High Priest. Prisoners have been known to etch a depiction of Mali in their cells when sentenced to death.
Forea
Forea is a halfling that is colloquially blamed for misfortune or unexplained bad luck. Depicted as a rather harmless looking halfling, Forea is more often used as a curse more than a focus of worship. This is not mutually exclusive, however, as some ask for Forea's blessings when gambling or doing other things reliant on luck.
Faller
Faller is another debated upon god, and considered heretical under the current High Priest. Faller is a god of sadism and chaos, and while this is usually considered part of being mortal, Faller is notable in that his actions are directly related to hostility towards other gods. When a Devotee is excommunicated, it is common to hear they were "blessed by Faller" due to heretical reasoning.
