Valakurth

The world of Valakurth is unique in the multiverse. It has a ring orbiting it around it equator causing the equatorial area to be more shaded and cooler than the rest of the planet. Additionally the planet's orbit is around two binary stars in a figure eight pattern. Due to this the two poles experience two types of "summer" a blazing hot summer, and a cool summer in place of what would be a winter, with cooler weather in between them both. When the orbit of the planet his the apex between the two suns both poles enjoy their blistering summers together as one rotates away from and the other into their summer, which is referred to as the summer solstice as neither pole experience night for 9 days.
However due to all of the placement of various celestial bodies, this causes the equator to live in an eternal winter. Without the use of teleportation magic crossing the equator is near suicide most of the year, however during the summer solstice it is warm enough for people to pass with relative ease.
