Valak Empire

In the not so distant future of a world once known as Earth a single woman now holds the world's governments under her thumb. According to urban tales, this feat was accomplished in a single day. The woman, known only as Empress Valak, appeared from seemingly thing air in the largest coup in military history. While her wit and determination are credited to her takeover of the entire planet, many surmise that it was the awesome power of her Reaper Unit, a military faction made of gigantic, bipedal vehicles, that tipped the scales into her favor. When there was no one left to stand up to her, the rest of the world merely bowed in obedience. Eighty years later her rule is still law over the new, unified planet. Cities and cultures that had once stood for centuries now pledged under her banner. All traditions of the past had been ripped from the soil and instead replaced by the all powerful Empire. Religions, myths, even the names of the lands had been stricken from official records in an effort to destroy all need for the people of the empire to ever again imagine war. However in the hearts of man, war is a precious a commodity as water. As such, many rebellious factions have sprung from the old earth. These people claim to want everything from their former heritage to a chance at the throne. While none have seen Empress Valak in years, her armies are quick to stomp down any sign of insurrection. Those that swear their allegiance to the Empire condemn these uprisings as terrorists and revel in their inevitable demise.
