The Kous Sat Bukwat - The Last Stand at Bukwat -, Suvto Va, Pumot, 11th, 2973

The Kous Sat Bukwat was a massively important battle in the history of The River Coast. It was the last stand siege at the castle of Bukwat by the Alliance of Mirai. The Alliance of Mirai was composed of three smaller kingdoms, Kirai, Morushu, and Talmas. The sieging kingdom was Emar, a powerful, war-like, kingdom that utilized siege weapons to its advantage. The siege took place over 5 days, with most of them successful. This article contains an account written in the book, "Bukwat, the history of the longest standing castle in the River Coast by Kiram Tav".   'The first day's attack was vicious. Siege weapons fired flaming rocks into the heavens and unto us, Laddermen scaled our walls and great grey beasts attempted to break through them. By the time it was over, we had retreated to the first inner wall, but were able to hold them back until the next day. It was not easy though. A constant guard watched for movement, and arrow volleys constantly rained down upon us. The first day was brutal.'   'The second day was only worse than the first. The great gray beasts seemed larger in number and held large amounts of soldiers upon their backs. The siege engines only increased in their fire and the laddermen grew in number. The second day brought a new threat, Mabaiku, sand people, users of The Mabaik. These men blinded our soldiers and drowned them in the sand. When all was fought on the second day, the siege seemed all but won.'   'The third day was a glimmer of hope. The beasts were unwieldy and shook off a lot of the soldiers. While a fair number of siege engines broke down from the rapid-fire pace and the ladders snapped under the weight of men clambering up them. The Mabaiku were relentless though, picking up for everything else. The Mabaiku formed balls of sand and launched them without the need for siege weapons. By the end of the third day, everyone was sandy but hopeful.'   'The fourth and fifth days blended together, all but keeping the hope in the men's' hearts. There were reinforcements, thousands of them from the east. It was then that hope was lost again, as they came marching from the sunset. Thousands ran away, myself included. The battle was lost, and the rest of the fight I could not tell you.'   This shows that the conditions of the battle were terrible, and the Kingdom of Emar was brutal.
