The Hundred Plateaus by Mivan Sen, Amot, 22nd, 3009

The Hundred Plateaus is a near-mystical region to the north of Emtu full of minor rivers and the great Kowat river. It is full of great rock mountains going straight up and plateauing at the top of them. It is known for its jungle-like flora and fauna despite how northward it is. Many believe this to be related to a magical event involving the many rivers. There are also many floods in the area, around every three to five years a flood occurs in the area. There is a high amount of biodiversity, with a lot of marine life and aerial life.

Ecosystem

The ecosystem of the hundred plateaus is very similar to the jungles of the south. This includes large grazers, apex predators, and everything in between.

Ecosystem Cycles

The seasons do not change throughout the year, so the ecosystem stays relatively the same.

Localized Phenomena

A strange phenomenon in this area has happened many times. Whenever a group of people tries to settle The Hundred Plateaus ever since they became a jungle, that group of people dies in some way. The first to die out was the people already living there, they died of a plague that had spread throughout the River Coast. When most had died out, the settlement of Baisu decayed. The second was a conquest of the area by the Kingdom of Vamor, they created the castle of Botsain, and the settlements of Kotsain and Bosait. This conquest was done because the Kingdom of Vamor was pressured by the Kingdom of Emtu to its west. Emtu, in turn, came and burnt all three of the newly built places. The final was a religious conquest of the area, these people built the great temple of Bopsain. This settlement was abandoned, but no one knows why. Thankfully, people survived this time. However, these people were in shock and died before they could say what happened.
