Kaliri Essence, also known as Kalmi, is a drug from the Northeastern region of Kaimaeni. It is specifically from the Kingdom of Kalarut, a prominent kingdom in Kaimaeni.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

It is a psychedelic drug that causes the user to fall asleep and believe that they are living another life. This ends when the drug's effect wears off, or around 5 - 8 hours after ingesting about 1 part of Kalari Essence. When the effect wears off, the user will have a sort of hangover. If too much is ingested, they will go into a coma and the effect will be permanent.

Manufacturing process

When boiled for 3 hours in temperatures only of the sun, it produces a chemical known to man as Kala. When Kala is mixed in a mortar and pestle with several parts assorted spices and herbs, it becomes a dark blue paste. This paste can be frozen and grated into a powder. This is Kalari Essence.

Significance

Kalari Essence is only significant in Khier-Tal, where the major epidemic has become its economy. If one wants to buy bread, they do not use the bartering system of Khier-Tal but pays with its weight in Kalmi.

However, The Khjeir-Tal is experiencing a major epidemic, with Kheir-Tal selling it illegally to The Kingdom of Tao-Yai across The Kier Mountains through The Pass of Er-Mala. The drug is spreading to the River Coast, via the Shal Kari; or the River Route.
