Dwarf

The Dwarves have long lived in the North of Vaelun. Ever since their first king Guntor Knurlheim founded the city of Durandur the Dwarves have mostly kept to their mountain homes in the north, indeed the Kingdom of Karak-Az- Knurlheim is the kingdom founded by Guntor himself, which his clan has ruled almost unopposed ever since. 
although ruled by a high king in matters of diplomacy, most Dwarves look to their Clan chief as their final authority. Each Clan chief rules over his clans central mountain city with the various families of the clan ruling over other settlements within the hold. There are also whole families who live outside the holds, in the cities to the south serving as ambassadors and merchants of the clans. Despite being different to mountain Dwarves of the north, they are revered for facilitating trade for the clans.
there have long been rumours of Dwarven colonies that were established before the Sundering in the Dragonspine mountains, but as one might expect the dwarves remain tight lipped about such a myth to any outsider. Combined with the obvious presence of Goblins, Orcs and other savage races in the Dragonspine make many people believe that all the colonies are is a myth.
