Kuhnari

Promt 23 of Mapvember: An insectoid species known for it's drone behavior 

The Kuhnari is a parasitic fungi that releases it spores into the air when disturbed. A creature infected by the Kuhnari becomes docile and displays a drone-like behavior as the fungi takes over its body. The infected first acts overly social the first two weeks after infection, seeking out the companionship of others. Then as, the infection starts to show, the reclusive phase takes place, where the infected avoids contact with others to hide the fact that they are infected. Last stage of infection is again seeking out people, in an effort to spread the infection further as tiny pustules filled with spores are just waiting to get burst.
