Ution

The world of Ution is very old. Many of the fierce battles that have been waged have been forgotten as the time marched forward. Many of the inhabitants do not know the true nature of the world that they live in. Most of the legions that are told fall short of telling the entire story of Ution. Even a lich that spends eternity attempting to reconstruct the history of the world is bound to decent into madness. The only one that knows all of the histories of all the people is Ution standing above even the gods, however, he is silent. Ution does not like the beginning days of this world and does not want someone to try to repeat it.   Knowledge is the most important thing, people in Ultion have spent all of eternity trying to gain the slightest edge in the hopeless race, for it is believed that the way to achieve godhood is to be the most knowledgeable in one part of the world. Even the gods know this and spend most of the days honing their craft, as to be dethroned is to die. And for gods, they do not know where they will go. They do not want to find out. Even with this intensive pursuit of knowledge, many people are not able to change what is known. That is why mortals will often seek out the gods so that they can learn.   Loremasters are the only one that has a chance of being contacted by the gods. Even then only the most important loremasters can even hope to be able to contact the gods. Loremasters are put against each other in a hope to be able to find information, however, most of the loremasters are past adventures when the bodies that they have are too weak to keep adventuring. This limits the amount of knowledge that one is able to know. Most of the reasons that young loremasters do not exist are that most of the people do not think that a young person can know enough to be able to act in a way that will be helpful to people.   Loremasters are to tell the history of adventures and many are able to be found for hire. However, because of the old nature of many of the people that are in this profession, most of them are not expected to be able to carry themselves in battle and are therefore not likely to be the target of enemies attacks, as those attacks would be better used for attacking the adventures. Loremasters are quite powerful however, able to change many of the situations that would cause death. To a party, they are quite indispensable, and to be able to have one is a great blessing. People joke that no party is able to lose when there is a loremaster that is present.   Old bones, however, are not easy to rest on. The world is becoming scarier and scarier. Nature is revolting against itself. For this reason, a lot of people are finding that there is a problem. Many would say that this is the end of an era and that they should prepare for the worst, however, little people understand how true that statement is. Ution is nothing but a watcher however, someone might call him outside of his slumber.
