Town of Maienrus
Maienrus is a medium-sized port town located on the eastern side of the Thalcona Peninsula, between Ubario and Tord on the northern end of the Braks Eshai. It is sprawling, cramped, and fairly industrial, with three major districts within the city. The Scholar's Village in the north is mostly comprised of magical schools and artisan shops. In the south is the Temple District, which is dominated by monasteries and temples to various gods and goddesses. The Wharves make up a thin strip of the eastern portion, stretching along both of the other districts. That is then broken down into several separate docks and markets.
Scholar's Village
The Scholar's Village, located in the north, is a winding path of alleyways and marginally bigger streets. The buildings are taller than they are wide, connected to their neighbors with decorative garlands and rope bridges far overhead, and generally have copper roofs and ornately carved wood and stone facings with each unique to that particular building. Its residents, mostly academics, mages, and artisans, are some of the wealthiest in the town and look down upon those of lower class.Places of Interest
Faithful Vasya An old statue made of rough-hewn stone depicting a middle-aged man and a dog of unknown breed. It is said that those who make an oath before the statue are compelled to keep it. The Crossed Wands A large inn, built in the Elven style. It is most known for serving potions and elixirs in addition to beer and ale. Its owner, Arnaud Makarovich, is well-known throughout the region.
