Hamlet of Stoneshade

Stoneshade is a small, idyllic hamlet located in the Milcaster River Valley at the foot of the Versend mountain range, near the southern tip of Braks Eshai. Most of the hamlet itself is carved into an outcrop of the mountains, with the oldest buildings standing at its western edge. It is most known for the precious gems and metals that come out of the Mines of Versend.

Demographics

The hamlet is mostly Dwarven, with the few other races considered outsiders and unable to ascend to the Synod.

Government

The Synod of Nine, a council of the elders of the hamlet, governs Stoneshade in a traditional way. Its leader, Aghal Lightbeard, is a fair, if harsh, ruler and is seldom overruled by her fellow elders.

Defences

The hamlet has little to defend it from attacks, though a rough stone wall and ditch surround its western border.

Originally known as Khelukkhizd, its current name is a rough translation into Common.
